Barmas was founded in 2017 in Venice by Massimo Chiapponi.
His vision: to unite Veneto’s artisanal denim tradition with modern, high-quality materials and conscious craftsmanship.

The name “Barmas” comes from the first names of Barbara and Massimo — the daughter and son of denim industry veteran Francesco Chiapponi, who brings over 50 years of experience to the brand.

Barmas produces entirely Made in Veneto, the heart of Italian denim manufacturing, with a strong focus on fit, detail, and exclusivity.

Since 2024, Barmas has partnered with C.P.A., a renowned manufacturer from the Veneto region, to further enhance production quality.

A standout feature of the brand is the low ecological footprint of its production facilities:

Use of photovoltaic energy systems
High-tech laundries utilizing laser and ozone treatments
A water purification system that recycles up to 95% of all water used
